File Transfer Protocol (FTP) Capability: FriendsPassing can receive and transfer data via FTP.

Newspaper death notices, published the day after death, typically have only the name, age, and town of residence of the deceased. For businesses and organizations that desire a higher level of identification, we can refer to additional information that you have supplied us, and minimize "same name" notifications.

Our basic subscription allows subscribers to list individuals with their full, and correct names, including first, two middle and last names. Our search engine was designed to require that the last name must be exactly as entered. However, it uses "Fuzzy" logic for the other names. This means that we should be able to identify your listed individuals even if a mortuary or newspaper misspells their given name. We do not search on the middle names; middle name entries are only for the convenience of our subscribers.

FriendsPassing will perform the work of creating your FriendsList for businesses. Basic subscribers create their FriendsList at our on-line web site. FriendsPassing will establish your FriendsList for you if you will send us a spread sheet file with columns of first, first middle, second middle, last name, town of residence and ZIP Code. You should save your file for us as either a MS_Excel, or a "Comma/space-delimited" spread sheet file. ZIP codes will allow us to automatically select the closest newspaper to search for each name listed.
